Chapter 343 - 342: She Looks So Much Like Mom
Bella Acker felt a bit frustrated.
Even if she couldn’t be a classic beauty like her mother, she could at least be a bit handsome like her father.
Instead, she ended up with a round little face that didn’t look quite adult.
Could it be that combining her father’s and mother’s genes resulted in this?
It seemed like her father’s face was slightly larger and rounder, while her mother’s was small and delicate. Is that why she had a face with round cheeks but a sharp chin?
Aunt Sienna heard her and chimed in, "Why didn’t you inherit the good genes from Mr. Rhodes and Mrs. Locke? Look at your eyes—they’re just like Mr. Rhodes’s, big, bright, and full of spirit. And your mouth, it’s as if it was carved from the same mold as Mr. Rhodes’s. Also, your eyebrows and chin are just like Mrs. Locke’s, they’re particularly beautiful."
Bella Acker inherited her mother’s willow-leaf eyebrows, which looked good even without makeup.
"Really?" Bella was happy to have some features that resembled her parents.
"Yes." Aunt Sienna nodded, "Our Bella is the prettiest."
"Not as pretty as Aunt Sienna, and not as pretty as Mom." Bella reached out and touched the photo on the tombstone. How would her life have been if her parents were still alive?
"You sweet talker, my face is full of wrinkles, nothing pretty about it." Aunt Sienna laughed and said, "It’s been years since I visited after the director passed away. My legs are getting more and more unruly. I might not be able to come anymore. Mr. Rhodes, Mrs. Locke, Bella will take care of the memorial visits from now on. I won’t be coming to see you again, hope you won’t mind. Bella, hurry up and pay respects to your parents."
"Okay." Bella knelt and respectfully kowtowed three times.
Aunt Sienna watched, her eyes suddenly reddening. She quickly turned away and wiped her eyes to hide her tears from Bella.
This year, she only paid respect to three people, but next year’s Qingming, it might be four.
She might not be around anymore, and the kids had all been adopted, leaving only Bella.
If Bella ends up marrying Mr. Sinclair, who will she have to confide in if she gets wronged at The Sinclair Family?
The more Aunt Sienna thought about it, the more her heart ached for Bella. But she understood her own condition; there really was no getting better.
Watching Bella finish her tributes and stand up, Aunt Sienna quickly put on a smile and said, "Bella, it’s getting late. I’m worried about the kids at home, let’s head back."
"Okay." Bella nodded, took one last look at the photo, and suddenly froze, furrowing her brows slightly.
Noticing that she hadn’t moved, Aunt Sienna asked, "Bella, what’s wrong?"
"Aunt Sienna, do you know who buried my parents here?"
"I actually don’t know." Aunt Sienna thought for a moment, then shook her head, "We only knew they had passed away. We found their tombstone after searching the cemetery records for their names."
Bella frowned, "Aunt Sienna, do you think my mother could have had an older or younger sister?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Yesterday, I met a middle-aged woman at the amusement park. Just now, looking at my mom’s photo, I realized she had features similar to my mom, although she looked much older, not as youthful as mom did."
"Really?" Aunt Sienna was surprised and widened her eyes.
