The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot

Chapter 295: Cecilia Bennett—First Encounter

Chapter 295: Cecilia Bennett—First Encounter

Arkenfall First School is a school with both middle and high school sections, and it’s the best middle school in Arkenfall.

Whether it’s the middle school section or the high school section, they’re both excellent.

Within the school, there are also a pair of sisters, one cute and the other bold, completely different in style, yet they get along exceptionally well.

However, they’re also the kind of people in First School that no one dares to mess with, running rampant, with top-notch fighting skills.

These two sisters are also impressive at skipping grades, as they are already in their junior year at the age of thirteen.

"Holly, look at this!"

On the table by the water dispenser was a book, with a piece of paper tucked inside. After filling her cup, Cecilia Bennett glanced over with curiosity.

"What’s there to be curious about?"

Holly Sawyer twisted the cap of her bottle, rolling her eyes at Cecilia Bennett.

This building belonged to the seniors. Their middle school field was being re-planned, so their PE classes were now held in the high school section.

The field faces the high school building, so they came over to get a drink when they got thirsty.

"Hey, this is a senior’s book. The handwriting is really pretty."

Cecilia Bennett flipped through a page randomly, blinking her eyes as she spoke.

"Let’s go, time to play ball."

Holly Sawyer called for Cecilia Bennett to leave.

Cecilia Bennett was still flipping through the pages and pulled out the piece of paper, which turned out to be a speech, likely for the end of this class session.

After the third class in the morning, there was a big recess, which included flag-raising and exercises.

Today is Monday, so there’s flag-raising along with a speech under the national flag. This speech paper must be for the flag-raising.

Unlike the bold black inkjet-printed papers from before, this speech was written in beautiful handwriting.

"Clara, you’re not leaving yet?"

Holly Sawyer had already walked halfway but noticed Cecilia hadn’t moved, so she went back.

Cecilia Bennett: "I’ll stay a bit."

"Alright, I’ll go ahead, come over soon."

Holly Sawyer said to Cecilia Bennett before heading off.

Cecilia Bennett felt a bit thirsty, so she opened her water bottle and took a drink.

"What are you doing?"

A gentle voice suddenly came from overhead, catching Cecilia Bennett off guard. Her hands jerked, spilling water all over the speech paper.

Cecilia Bennett’s heart instantly raced, and she could only think: Oh no.

Theo Shaw had just come out of the restroom to see a girl standing dazed in front of the table where he had placed his book. Approaching, he called out.

The girl was startled, spilling the cup’s contents onto her speech paper.

The black ink gradually blurred and became unclear as the water soaked through.

"Why did you scare me? Are you crazy?"

Cecilia Bennett hurriedly tried to wipe the water stains, but it was futile. She shot an accusing glare at Theo Shaw.

"I was just speaking normally."

Theo Shaw felt quite innocent, as this was his own speech paper.

"Am I gonna get mobbed for this?"

"Today must’ve been an unlucky day, should’ve checked the calendar."

"Damn, my life feels like it’s almost over."

Cecilia Bennett looked at the water-blurred writing, feeling incredibly stressed and kept mumbling incessantly.

Though she and Holly Sawyer are the middle school bullies, indeed, within the high school section, they’re a bit timid.

"Stop mumbling, the speech is mine."

Theo Shaw inexplicably found the girl in front of him particularly adorable. Her muttering was especially amusing.

He reached out to take the speech from Cecilia Bennett, speaking slowly, yet with a calm demeanor.

Cecilia Bennett blinked in confusion as she looked at Theo Shaw.

Damn?

It’s his???

"Is it really yours?"

Cecilia Bennett blinked, asking dumbfounded.

Theo Shaw: "Yes, it is."

"You scared me; it’s not my fault."

Cecilia Bennett grabbed her water bottle and took off running.

"Hey, there’s less than ten minutes until class ends, what are you gonna do?"

Halfway through running, Cecilia Bennett turned back, nervously looking at Theo Shaw.

If needed, she could get Holly Sawyer over to help out. Holly’s great at writing essays.

The speech was only half wet; replacing the other half shouldn’t be too difficult.

"It’s alright, I memorized it."

Theo Shaw said easily, his tone serious.

He had written every word himself, committing it to memory, so whether he had it or not wasn’t particularly critical.

It just felt better to have it in hand.

"Oh, okay, I’m off."

With that, Cecilia Bennett dashed off, as if she was escaping a contagion.

Theo Shaw couldn’t help but chuckle lightly. This little girl was quite amusing, looking like she was from the middle school section.

Theo Shaw’s gaze landed on the playground, where a group of little kids was playing.

"Did you get caught doing something sneaky?"

Holly Sawyer, tired from playing, sat cooling herself under a tree, and teased when she saw Cecilia Bennett running over, out of breath.

Cecilia Bennett looked as if she was being chased by a dog.

Cecilia Bennett recounted what had just happened to Holly Sawyer.

"Hahaha, Cecilia Bennett, I can’t believe there’s a day you’d be so embarrassed. Aren’t you usually so brave? Why get timid all of a sudden, hahaha."

Holly Sawyer laughed so hard she was out of breath, pointing at Cecilia Bennett as the laughter continued.

The two always teased each other like this, but always had each other’s back when it mattered, maintaining a great friendship.

Soon, the end-of-class bell rang, along with the flag-raising music, as both high school and middle school assembled around the same flag platform.

Cecilia Bennett and Holly Sawyer hurried to find their class and lined up.

"You’ll see him soon, hahaha."

Holly Sawyer whispered into Cecilia Bennett’s ear, quietly chuckling uncontrollably.

"Holly Sawyer, shut up!"

Cecilia Bennett truly wanted to tape Holly’s mouth shut, she was being so annoying.

"Then bring some duct tape and stick it shut."

Holly Sawyer continued to laugh, though keeping it low.

Cecilia Bennett felt so infuriated that she really wanted to punch Holly Sawyer.

The mood lightened as they bickered, and soon it was time for the outstanding students’ speeches.

"Esteemed teachers, dear students, good morning, I’m Theo Shaw from Senior Class 1. The theme of today’s speech under the national flag is..."

Theo Shaw spoke on stage, his warm voice particularly soothing to the ears.

He had a fair complexion and stood tall, commanding attention from all around.

Glancing up at Theo Shaw, Cecilia Bennett, for a brief moment, felt as if she was seeing a ray of light.
