Chapter 283: Pregnant
Chapter 283: Pregnant
Holly was lying on the bed, talking to Cecilia Bennett on the phone, feeling a bit down. She hadn’t had her period for over two months, and her mood wasn’t great.
"It hasn’t come in two months, and you haven’t gone to the hospital to check? Complaining to me, I think you’ve lost your mind."
Cecilia Bennett was probably at a bar, as there were loud noises in the background. She yelled and rolled her eyes speechlessly.
Holly: "..."
She didn’t feel like talking now, yet Cecilia Bennett was snapping at her.
"Go to the supermarket and buy a pregnancy test to see if you’re pregnant, or just go to the hospital for a check-up."
"I’m busy, I’ll call you back later, gotta go."
Cecilia Bennett said a few simple words and then hung up, going back to her business.
Pregnancy test?
Pregnant?
Oh my God.
Holly jumped up from the bed. How could she have forgotten about this?
She hadn’t had her period for two months and hadn’t taken any precautions during this time. It seemed plausible that she could be pregnant.
Holly hurriedly got out of bed, dressed up, and went to the nearby supermarket to buy a pregnancy test.
She excitedly went to the bathroom to take the test, her hands shaking slightly throughout, afraid she would be disappointed.
She really wanted to have a child with Leo Grant.
When she saw the two lines on the pregnancy test, Holly was stunned, looking incredulously.
Oh my God, she was?
She was?
She shakily took out her phone and sent a message to Leo, then went back to lie on the bed.
She needed to calm down; she was a bit unsettled right now.
She had a baby, which was undoubtedly an exciting thing.
Thinking about this, Holly fell asleep.
"Holly, Holly..."
Holly was woken up by Leo’s urgent voice. She opened her eyes blankly, looking in confusion at Leo, who was panting in front of her.
Her brain suddenly slowed down for a beat.
"What’s up?"
She asked in confusion, still a bit dazed from sleep.
"I’m going to be a father?"
Leo’s tone was filled with undeniable excitement. He hugged Holly and spun her around.
When Holly sent him the message, he was in a meeting. As soon as it ended and he saw Holly’s message, he rushed back without thinking.
"...Yes."
Being spun around by Leo made Holly’s head dizzy, her brain struggling to keep up.
"I’m going to be a father, I’m going to be a father, I’m going to be a father."
Leo was ecstatic, repeating the phrase like a fool over and over.
He was going to be a father.
It’s important enough to say three times, but Leo, for saying it three times, looked like a silly person.
Holly: "..."
She felt that Leo had lost it. Why else would he be grinning so foolishly, looking so silly?
Leo took Holly to the hospital for a full check-up. After the doctor said everything was fine, only then did Leo relax.
Then Leo made calls one after another to tell his buddies and friends, he was in an entirely boastful demeanor.
He was going to be a father, while all his buddies were still single.
Leo had a touch of superiority.
Holly: "..."
He was just being a fool.
Leo organized a gathering that night, inviting a few friends over for a meal.
"I suddenly think Leo’s brain isn’t quite right."
Cecilia Bennett, sitting next to Holly, whispered secretly.
From the moment she walked in, Leo had been smiling, and still hadn’t stopped, as if he couldn’t.
He was in such a good mood that he cooked a large spread just for them, all on his own.
"Maybe he’s just really happy."
Holly commented with a hint of helplessness.
"True enough, he is going to be a father after all."
Cecilia Bennett nodded.
From this small thing, you could see that Leo really, truly loved Holly, enough to be so happy to know she was pregnant.
Throughout the meal, Leo was bragging in all sorts of ways.
Noah Raines and Nathaniel Shaw were at a loss for words, and if looks could kill, Leo didn’t know how many times he’d have died.
"Will you shut up already? Just because you’re quiet doesn’t mean you’re a mute."
"Alright, alright, buddy, can you let us eat in peace?"
"We want to enjoy our meal, not listen to your chatter."
"I’m getting a headache."
Neither Nathaniel nor Noah could stand Leo anymore, and spoke up directly.
Since getting married, Leo had changed drastically, becoming almost unrecognizable to them.
Leo: "I’m happy, so what."
Noah: "..."
Nathaniel: "..."
They seriously considered disowning this brother.
Leo now was an absolute wife-doting fanatic, always showing off their love, never failing to mention Holly at every turn.
"He’s really good to you."
Cecilia Bennett turned her head to Holly, speaking softly.
Seeing Holly doing well now, seeing Leo care for Holly so much, made Cecilia Bennett genuinely happy.
That’s really great.
"Yes, I made the right choice."
Holly slightly curved her lips, speaking softly.
They say marriage is the tomb of love, but she felt that after marrying Leo, they became even sweeter.
Their love improved rapidly and continuously.
"By the way, Warren King is actually pretty nice."
After a pause, Holly spoke with a serious tone.
Warren King had been pursuing Cecilia Bennett for a long time; Holly could see Warren truly cared for Cecilia Bennett.
The past was already in the past, and there was no need to dwell on it. Everyone should have their own life, and Cecilia Bennett was no exception.
Holly hoped Cecilia Bennett could have her new life and open her heart to someone new.
Life doesn’t stop with anyone’s departure; it keeps going, with people coming and going.
Some come, some leave.
There will be loss and gain.
"He is indeed quite nice, but I don’t like him."
Cecilia Bennett slightly curved her lips, speaking gently.
There are many wonderful people in this world, but she just didn’t like them.
She had encountered people better than Theo Shaw, more handsome, gentler, but she never felt her heart flutter.
Very faint, very faint.
They say time heals all wounds, so let time heal her heart.
In fact, being alone was quite good, without needing to worry about other things.
"Feelings can be cultivated."
"Life isn’t just about Theo Shaw; you’ll meet someone else who makes your heart flutter."
Holly gently patted Cecilia Bennett’s arm, speaking softly.
Feelings are such a subtle thing.
It’s not something you can just let go of when you say you will, or stop liking when you say you don’t.
