Chapter 213 A Mother’s Wink
Chapter 213 A Mother’s Wink
Avari cleared his throat, his golden eyes gleaming as if he had already figured out his wish.
He turned his attention to the flames the goddess had coalesced in and opened his mouth to speak.
"Let me be loved by Darkness, so it never consumes me."
Kara's burning eyes narrowed through the pyre, her curvaceous form flickering between ghost and goddess. She tilted her head, lips curling in something between a sneer and a smirk.
The flames burnt darker for a moment.
"A curious wish, mortal. Most beg to escape the darkness, even entities born in it… and you ask to be loved by it? There's a reason why greed is a sin…"
Avari remained calm.
"Esteemed Lady, I do not wish to run from the darkness, I wish to walk through it… and remain untouched for I have ambitions that I must realize."
Kara released a low smoky chuckle, it sounded extremely cruel.
"Little Greed King, know this… to be loved by darkness is to be marked by it."
From the heart of the fire, a tendril of black flame coiled outward like, a serpent, slithering toward Avari. He tensed but did not move.
The flame wrapped around his throat… then sank into his chest.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGAAAAAARHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Avari screamed at the top of his lungs, a cold surge of tears rushed through his veins as his golden color blood began to lose its previous golden glow, turning into darkness.
Kara chuckled, her sadistic gaze fixed on the boy as she could feel her form dissipating.
"You wanted to be loved by darkness. Heh. Darkness loves differently. If you fall into madness, it will love you… if you rise too high, it will drag you down like a jealous wife… you are now it's favorite toy… still, it comes with benefits, more than what a lower being could ever want or deserve."
Rael observed as the Avari knelt on the grass rolling on it as the core of his entire essence began to change and Kara's gaze on Avari's body before she dissipated completely.
However at the same time as the last flame turned ash, he noticed for a brief moment Kara's gaze slowly turning toward him but before she could see anything, the connection was completely lost.
"Phew…" Rael heaved a sigh of relief.
If Kara truly concentrated with a bit of her true divinity she could peer through the blanket of the ritual and look at him.
It seemed as if it was the yandere goddess's instinct that made her look for Rael's inquisitive gaze spying on her.
'Well as long as she doesn't know its me. She won't care about it. She'll dismiss it as another unworthy lower being.'
After all Kara was a yandere and Rael was one of Fakir's closest friends… his first ever friend. One that knew the lad before he ever met his sister wife.
'God knows how many times that jealous bitch has tried to kill me.'
A wry smile crept onto the silver haired man's face as he could feel his holiest dragon of the black flames absolute dominating third leg rising.
'Thats so hot though…'
Rael was getting turned on.
He knew what Kara had done to Avari. He had been marked by darkness. Pure darkness, courtesy of Fakir marking him through his wife.
After all Kara was the goddess of hope, retribution and loyalty… not the goddess of darkness but… her husband was.
Being loved by darkness has its perks but too many cons as well. Those loved by darkness are immune to all forms of corruption.
To an extent, Rael would say that Avari was also immune to the corruption effects of his pure death energy, however only to an extent.
Entities of darkness may show reverence to him and even become obedient… he's also going to be a lot more powerful especially in the dark.
The greatest perk above all would be the ability to use the [Wretched Flames], the same flames that Hecate would use. One of the most dangerous flames to exist.
'For a lower being that's a great deal yet redundant.. That kind of immunity is useless but I guess if one was absolute dominion in a lower world being loved by darkness is a great perk.'
At least this way Avari would have absolute immunity from the effects of the plant. Rael shook his head chuckling in disdain.
'That must be the main reason for this wish.'
He noticed as Avari passed out on the grass, sleeping soundly from the pain of having transforming the core of his structure, marked by darkness.
The guards carried Avari back to the carriage meanwhile Rael's mom gazed at the growing plant, confusion marring her features as she noticed the servants standing in line.
Putting one and one together, realization marred upon her… it wasn't hard for her to deduce that the plant was the anomaly that had caused her memory loss.
She gave the plant one last look before turning away to sit inside the carriage but before she could completely sit in it, a small smirk crept onto her face as she looked at where Rael hid.
Then she suddenly winked in his direction.
Rael froze.
'I was found out….?'
Rael cussed under his breath chuckling self deprecatingly.
"Ofcourse that's an entity of the highest order after all."
Then he noticed her signalling something to him, one hand of hers made a hole gesture whereas with the index finger of the other hand she put it inside.
Rael's jaw dropped as he noticed her seductively turn around, her hips swaying as she posed into the carriage.
'My god… my mother is seductively inviting me, she took my words to heart… it seems like she intends to fulfill them.'
Rael gulped his saliva. Scared? Oh he was not… for some reason his dao of foreshadowing senses were tingling.
'Am I changing history?'
'Will it have repercussions?'
He had no idea but for now Rael knew one thing, he would go with the flow of the world and let fate throw whatever it wanted to toward him.
'Lets fucking do this. Fuck morals. Imma fuck my mom!'
