Chapter 515: God Valley Arc
Chapter 515: God Valley Arc
No one knows if he picked it up from Rocks, but Orin has developed a habit now: when he dislikes someone... he kicks them straight in the face!!! In the dim house, using his height advantage, Orin drove a single kick into Saint Garling’s face. The tremendous force even faintly kicked out a sonic boom, and that fairly well-proportioned face instantly twisted and caved in.
"Bang—"
A huge cloud of dust was kicked up in the distant forest. Saint Garling, who was sent flying, smashed through countless trees, his face covered in blood. He didn’t recover immediately, which clearly meant that kick carried extremely advanced techniques of using Conqueror’s Haki.
"I knew Celestial Dragons were awful, but I didn’t think they’d be this awful," Orin muttered as he lit himself a cigarette, his mood sour.
A woman who loved him deeply had just given him two children, and then he turned around and stabbed her to death—killed the mother who had just borne his children. Perhaps because he was used to spending time with people like Rocks and Newgate, used to the creed of loyalty and righteousness, the still-young Orin chose to answer things he couldn’t stand with a heavy fist.
Saint Garling stood up with blood on his face. He drew the blade at his waist, his expression icy.
"Well-deserved reputation as someone the Elder take very seriously. Such terrifying brute strength..."
"Hm?"
A razor-sharp slash charged straight at Orin. Wearing knight’s armor, Garling unleashed the strength befitting the commander of the God’s Knights, Haki coiling around the blade.
"Clack clack clack—"
Orin backhanded the attack aside with his Haki-coated black club. Then he spun the club in his hand and took a charging stance.
Once again, the club smashed into Garling’s face. His expression twisted again, and his eyes began to roll back.
This proved it yet again: among people of the same young generation, no one could get the better of Orin. Even a monster like Garling could only spill blood under blow after blow of the "teleporting club technique" whose trajectory couldn’t even be seen.
No one knew how many times he’d barely recovered already. With a swollen nose and bruised face, Garling now felt numb inside when facing this all-rounder who had offense, defense, and speed.
Before he could recover again, Orin stepped on Garling’s face and looked into the distance.
"I’d really like to finish you off here, but I can’t let sticky pests like you slow me down..."
Seeing in his Observation Haki the pirate ships already closing in on God Valley, Orin smiled.
"It’s about to get lively!!!"
...
Because of Orin’s appearance, God Valley, already a total mess, was suddenly shaken again by a barrage of cannon fire.
"What’s going on!!!"
"The east side of the island is..."
"It’s the Rocks Pirates!!!"
Pirate ships flying Rocks’ black flag were cutting through the waves toward God Valley, and with them came many famous pirates of the seas.
Led by Rocks, the monster crew gathered at the bow, looking toward God Valley in the distance. Rocks laughed and shouted,
"Brats, killing each other here doesn’t do any good. Let’s make a huge ruckus, then split the treasure when we get back!!!"
The captains chattered away, their talk nothing but treasure, Devil Fruits, Shakky, and Orin, who had arrived ahead of them.
Looking at the already-chaotic God Valley, a smile appeared on Rocks’ face.
"Looks like the Celestial Dragons and the Marines have both been given a massive headache by that Orin!!!"
Hot on their heels came the Roger Pirates.
"We have to rescue Shakky!!!"
Compared to the Rocks Pirates, the Roger Pirates looked a bit naive as they noisily all disembarked.
Garling, "bruised and battered," also returned to the Celestial Dragons’ ranks, gathered the God’s Knights, and prepared to face the two powerful pirate crews.
The situation plunged into chaos.
The Rocks Pirates landed together. At the front were several captains who swept the Marines aside like weeds. On this battlefield, a burly man wielding twin blades followed behind the captains, fighting the Marines.
"I’m no small fry, you hear!!!"
With Armament Haki wrapped around his twin blades, Keek used a single sword move to chop a Marine Commodore to the ground, battle intent blazing in his eyes.
"But... I should hurry and go find Captain Orin."
Thinking that, Keek prepared to head toward the center of the island, only to be caught in the shockwave of a shell flying in from afar.
"Bang—!!!"
Vice Admiral Garp’s ship had arrived.
"Damn it..."
Keek brushed the dirt off himself and immediately followed the captains toward the island’s center.
But as he ran, perhaps because God Valley’s terrain had been utterly wrecked, or because the battlefield situation was too complicated, after a burst of smoke and thunderous noise, Keek, carrying his twin blades, ended up separated from the others.
He walked alone across the battlefield of God Valley, relying on luck and caution to avoid one monster fight after another. He knew all too well how terrifying those monsters on this sea were.
Maybe that was why—even if Orin hadn’t come—Keek could still survive a massive battlefield like God Valley.
He moved forward, each step extremely careful.
And he certainly wasn’t the only cautious one.
A Marine soldier holding two children—Dragon—was also trying to find a slim chance of survival in the chaotic battlefield, to break through and get the children out safely.
The two figures felt their way forward, and when they turned their heads, they saw each other.
Dragon, who was still just a lowly soldier, was instantly shocked when he saw a strange pirate appear. Cold sweat poured down, but holding the children, he had no way to respond quickly—and Keek’s blade was already at his neck.
Without the children, Dragon still wouldn’t have been a match for Keek, who had mastered both types of Haki—let alone now while holding two kids. He froze in place, drenched in cold sweat, his face pale.
What he didn’t know was that it was precisely because Keek noticed he was holding two children that he didn’t kill him.
After all...
Even the world of pirates has its code.
You could say that’s part of the Rocks Pirates’ traditional culture.
Keek sheathed his blade and stared at the young Marine soldier, sighing inwardly that he had the makings of a monster, then looked at the two infants.
"Are you trying to protect these two kids, Marine?"
Hearing this, Dragon let out a breath of relief. He didn’t know what was going on with the pirate in front of him, but at least the blade was down. Then he nodded seriously.
"These two children are my redemption for taking part in this slaughter game."
Keek nodded.
"Kids this young showing up here... what a sin..."
