Chapter 607: All out brawl

Jace had to dodge to the side when Agnoso stabbed forward. When he did so he felt something slam into his chest and push him out into space. But Jace quickly fired the enhancement on his boots.

He moved further to the side and was able to grab a piece of metal and pull himself into a different part of the ship. Away from the mortellas and the admiral. But at this point he was less worried that the admiral would focus on something else. Jace would just have to kill some of his crew to get his attention.

Unfortunately it seemed the majority of the mortella crew had either been evacuated or had been pulled out of the holes into space. He would just need to do something else to pull their attention.

Jace magnetically locked his boots before dematerializing his magnus. He took a stance and started channeling electricity and the excess energy in his suit into the blade as well. He spread out his senses again picking the spots to cut through the ship.

Jace only managed to slice through the remains of the ship three times before had to block a strike from a halberd again. As he did the ship started to fall apart around them. He had cut it up so much that the ship hallway turned into a platform while the nearby rooms turned into additional open space to maneuver.

Now with an open roof or rather the lack of the roof he could see the atmosphere as they fell into it. He could also feel the heat as an inferno started around them from them entering the atmosphere. Jace could also see both visually and knew from his last scan that there were a bunch of mortella closing in on his location.

Jace then began to enter the zone as he deflected and parried attacks. Using the moments in between strikes to press his advantage. He could feel someone watching and studying his every move as he did so.

After a pair of strikes from one of them that were wielding a pair of swords. Jace took advantage of their off balanced position and jumped forward. Slicing through the mortella before moving to a new position.

When he did so, Agnoso struck, or rather he tried to. He flew in from the side with his trident and attempted to skewer Jace when he took up his new position. But Jace disappeared right before he struck. Then as Agnoso was getting over his surprise, Jace was coming down above, using the now existent and strong gravity to his advantage.

At the last moment Agnoso was pushed out of the way by an eight winged mortella that had a spear in one hand. While it managed to push Agnoso out of the way, it cost the mortella its life as Jace cleaved it in half.

Agnoso spun around to meet Jace head on. Only for Jace to bring his sword around in a sweeping arc that cleaved off one of his mechanical arms. Sending Agnoso’s arm and trident flying away.

Before Jace could press his advantage he was attacked on all sides. They could see the energy that was coming off his sword but not himself because of his invisibility cloaking. Everywhere he cut his sword left a trail of blue light. There was no point in remaining invisible.

So he disabled his cloaking before pressing forward. Letting his shielding and armor do most of the work as he started cutting through the Mortella. The limbs of their armor began flying through the air, or they began spasming as they died when he breached their armor.

Each second that passed was another scratch or mark on Jace’s armor. It was also a moment that Agnoso took to get ready for his next attack. The half-breed mortella abomination was weakened but not out yet. Although in a moment he would be.

Jace sliced through another of the enemies before suddenly dashing toward Agnoso. Changing his tactics which threw the remaining mortella for a loop. All that was left were five eight winged mortella and Agnoso. None of the invisible mortella from before were left alive.

As he fought he vaguely heard something in the background. A voice talking to him. But he was too focused at the moment. Jace closed in on Agnoso and went to cut through him when Agnoso used his trident to block Jace’s sword.

Jace dropped his katana but continued to close the distance with his body. Maneuvering behind Agnoso and grabbing his remaining arm then shoulder throwing Agnoso into the ground, hard. There was a loud clanging noise of the impact as Jace dematerialized his katana and recalled it in his hand before stabbing downward at Agnoso.

But before he could skewer him, one of the mortella tackled Jace to the ground and away from the mortella. As one of them pinned him down, two of them grabbed and picked up Agnoso, dragging him to the edge. Then the last two went to attack Jace, disregarding the safety of their comrade.

Jace’s katana was knocked out of his hand by one of them with a pair of curved blades. The other one went to stab through him with a spear. Jace grabbed just below the head of the spear that was coming towards his head and pushed it to the side. It threw the spear wielder off balance and right above Jace and the mortella that grabbed him.

Jace kicked upwards and sent the spear wielder flying over the side of the debris that they were falling on. Leaving just the one with the curved blades that knocked his sword out of his hand. As well as the one holding him down.

Jace materialized his spectre knife in his hand and stabbed the one that was holding onto him. When he did he could feel the grip loosen. The one with the curved blades went to slice through Jace’s neck. He reached out and caught one of the blades with the palm of his hand. The other one he stopped with his knife.

He frowned slightly as he could feel the curved blade bite into his skin while his armor began signaling that his suit was compromised. He fully grabbed the blade and yanked the creature forward before slipping his knife under the mortella’s armor and compromising their armor. He pushed them away and looked to where Agnoso was benign pulled off the edge of the debris with one of the eight winged mortella. The last one turned to Jace and moved back over while pulling out a pair of objects and screaming.

{Aaaaahhh!} Jace pushed off the mortella shell that was on him and kicked it towards the last mortella. But before he could do anything else the objects in the mortella’s hands exploded in a fiery blue flash that engulfed Jace and the entire platform. Destroying the piece of debris they were on and sending Jace flying back.

As he flew back he dematerialized the sword and knife that were still somewhere in the area. His armor was now breached in multiple places where the weaker under armor was damaged. The other mortella’s body blocked most of the shrapnel. But Jace still got caught up in it and was partially injured.

Now he was being engulfed in flame as he started falling into the atmosphere. He spun around as he looked at where Agnoso was. He was also falling with the help of one of the mortella who was gliding down. Unaffected by the heat of entering the atmosphere like he was. The other mortella he kicked over the side was nowhere to be seen.

For about three seconds then Jace felt a body slam into him. He then felt his speed increase as the mortella’s mechanical wings opened up and glowed blue as it pushed them downward. Jace’s shielding glowed gold in a hexagonal pattern as fire covered them for the moment.

Jace wraps his legs around the mortella and grabs the mortella’s head. Spinning them around so they were swapped positions and the mortella was not propelling them downward but were slowing their fall just as they entered a cloud layer. Jace used his hands to crush the mortella’s head. It only took a few moments to do so the mortella did not have time to react.

Jace used his visors feature and his abilities to scan for Agnoso and the last eight winged mortella. Finding they too entered the cloud layer. Jace looked down at the mortella he was falling with and used the body to redirect them to Agnoso and the last mortella that was guarding him.

It was time to finish this and move on. Although he might have to complete his descent to Prima Terra first. His fighter, Hound’s Tooth, was busy destroying the remains of the world class ship so it would not destroy Prima Terra. It was already going to cause a cataclysmic wave when it hit the ocean, he was hoping to stop something worse from happening.
