Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever

Chapter 307: Summer Lowell Held Hostage

Chapter 307: Summer Lowell Held Hostage

Summer Lowell shook her head self-deprecatingly, glaring at her so-called biological father, and couldn’t help but laugh aloud, "Do you think by doing this, your son will be safe and sound?"

"Naturally, President Huxley promised us as much."

"How ridiculous!"

"Summer, do you think Maxim Sinclair will come to rescue you?" Justin Huxley, who had been watching from the sidelines, stepped forward slowly, "You overestimate his patience. You challenged his limits again and again. From what I know of him, how could he possibly come to save you again?"

Summer’s eyes lowered, unable to ignore the pain in her heart.

Yes, she had repeatedly gone against him, even ignoring his kind advice.

It would be strange if Maxim Sinclair could tolerate her any longer.

At this point, she had only herself to blame for everything.

As the cruise ship sailed into international waters, Summer watched helplessly as her recently reunited biological parents disembarked onto another ship, grinning ear to ear with a suitcase full of money.

"How do you feel now? Years of obsession ending in this result?" Justin’s voice came slowly from behind her.

"Ha, I finally understand why I’ve felt uneasy these past few days. It was all your doing. But in a way, I also thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have seen reality so quickly."

"I am your most respected senior, no need to be polite with me. But let me kindly give you a piece of news—Maxim Sinclair was actually the first to find out about your biological parents. Yet, he hid the truth from you."

Something flickered in Summer’s eyes.

Maxim Sinclair had indeed known who her biological parents were from the start. No wonder he’d been acting strange lately.

Justin, seeing Summer’s sorrowful expression, recalled how she and Maxim had conspired to entrap him, stirring his anger. He maliciously said, "So pitiful, your parents abandoned you back then just because some charlatan claimed you were born under an unlucky star. Does that reason make you feel even worse?"

As expected, Summer should have felt like her heart was being stabbed.

But looking at Justin’s schadenfreude, she suddenly didn’t want to give him the satisfaction, "It’s whatever. At least I don’t have to agonize over who my biological parents are anymore. Are you trying to hurt me with this?"

Justin’s smile faded abruptly, and he suddenly walked over to grab Summer by the wrist, dragging her towards the cabin. Summer stumbled as she was pulled along, "What are you doing? Let go of me!"

Thus, Justin dragged her into a room, opened the door, threw her onto a bed, and locked the door.

Watching Justin start to take off his coat, Summer retreated in fear, grabbing a decorative vase nearby, "Don’t come any closer, or I’ll scream for help!"

"I don’t understand, why did you and Maxim Sinclair team up against me? How have I wronged you?"

Justin’s eyes were red, approaching step by step.

"You still have the nerve to blame me. You used me without a shred of guilt and turn around to accuse me. Where do you get the audacity?"

Justin sneered, moving in to use force, but Summer steeled herself and smashed the vase on his head.

"Ah!"

Seeing Justin bleeding, Summer steadied herself, "You forced me."

Justin wiped the blood from his head and slapped Summer in the face, "You could beg for mercy under Maxim Sinclair, so why can’t I touch you?"

"Shut up!" Summer screamed, picking up the shattered vase pieces, "If you dare touch me, I’ll die right here in front of you!"

"Ha... you’re trying to stay faithful to Maxim Sinclair?"

"I’ll do what I say!"

Seeing the blood on Summer’s neck, Justin finally showed some apprehension, "Fine, doesn’t matter. Now that we’re in international waters, even if Maxim Sinclair wants to find you, he can’t. I have all the time to tangle with you."

With that, he held his head wound and left the room.

Summer slowly slid down against the wall, hugging her legs, tears silently flowing.

How could she break free from this situation?

What could she do to get out of here? Justin is a monster, terrifying beyond belief, more so than Maxim Sinclair.

And it was only now did she realize how foolish she’d been.

"Maxim Sinclair..."

...

In the villa, a doctor was bandaging Maxim Sinclair’s wound.

Matthew came in from outside, holding a phone, and said to Maxim Sinclair, who was watching him, "Mr. and Mrs. Collins took Summer to international waters, then boarded a cruise to Leonia and have boarded a flight, preparing to head to Rivenland. Mrs. isn’t with them, and there’s no news of her yet."

Maxim Sinclair pinched the bridge of his nose, suppressing his voice to instruct everyone, "Keep looking, Justin Huxley must still be in international waters. He’s deliberately hiding from me. The sooner the better, I’m worried Summer may be in danger."

Once his wound was bandaged, the butler, remembering Maxim Sinclair hadn’t eaten all day, brought up some food.

But Maxim Sinclair had no appetite at all and anxiously awaited updates from Matthew.

But Matthew didn’t show up for a long time.

As dusk fell, Maxim Sinclair finally couldn’t sit still any longer and contacted a cruise ship to head to international waters.

When the ship was about to reach international waters, Matthew provided the exact location of Justin Huxley’s cruise.

By the time Maxim Sinclair found the cruise, it was already bright daylight.

Summer, who hadn’t slept all night, looked at the sealed window, contemplating ways to escape.

Just then, Justin came again, looking at her with a dark expression, "Want to hear some good news?"

Summer, feeling uneasy, gripped the vase shard, not trusting his so-called good news.

"Your old flame Maxim Sinclair actually found this place," Justin laughed ambiguously, "His luck is always this good, finding this ship’s location so quickly. Hmph, if he hadn’t been born into such golden luck, I doubt he’d be doing better than me now."

Watching Justin in his state of paranoid madness, Summer suppressed her inner delight.

She dared not provoke Justin further, worried he might do something more horrifying in his madness.

"Do you really think he’ll be able to take you safely away?" Justin, somehow procuring a rope, tied Summer’s hands, "Maxim Sinclair’s ship should be here now, I’ll take you to see him."

"You madman!"

Maxim Sinclair stood at the bow, watching Summer Lowell being held captive on Justin’s cruise ship.

His face grew even darker.

"Justin Huxley, if you’re a man, let her go. You know full well, the feud between the Huxley and Sinclair families, Summer is innocent. Don’t drag her into this."

"She’s far from innocent!"

Justin laughed crazily, "So, how about it? Your beloved woman is now in my hands. Shouldn’t the way you speak to me change now? I hate that aloof tone of yours. Aren’t you just lucky to be born well? If you weren’t so good at being born, who knows who’d be the better one between us now!"
