Chapter 476: Meeting A Familiar Face
[11-star Awakening: I Have Infinite Mana?!]
Apparently, the protagonist’s soul had somehow become one with the world core, granting him an inexhaustible mana pool.
The protagonist could literally overload his magic skills with such intensity that a single flame spark would evolve into a fireball, then a greater fireball, then a Meteor Fireball, and so on until he could form a miniature sun capable of wiping out the Demon’s continent while he wasn’t even a 2-star being.
Of course, it was fiction because, in reality, there would have been many limitations enforced by the world, even if somebody somehow managed to obtain infinite mana.
While exploring the market, they came across various establishments and shops, from which Leo bought whatever he found interesting. Though most of it was food he had never tasted before.
Along the way, he noticed many slaves buying things alone in the market without their masters nearby. It even included the rare sight of a female elven slave purchasing groceries for her master.
With that, Leo knew there would be no problem sending Naelith and Lyswenna out on their own to roam freely. So, he did just that.
"You both go and have fun on your own. By the evening, meet me back at the place we’re staying," he said before opening his map and marking the house’s location on it, then forwarding it to their phones in case they lost their way.
"If you encounter any problem in the meantime, don’t hesitate to message me. Even if it’s small, inform me before taking any action. If the situation warrants immediate action, then act on it. Your priority is your safety, remember that."
"My Lord, we are fine. We will stay beside you," Lyswenna said softly.
"You think I don’t have eyes? I saw you admiring some of the things along the way. Go and buy whatever you found interesting. I will be doing my own thing during that time, which requires me to remain in stealth, so you cannot accompany me. Now go before I change my mind and send you back to our quarters."
Both immediately nodded and walked away. Since they had 100 gold coins on them, they could buy almost everything they found interesting, so they went all out.
Meanwhile, Leo, hidden in stealth, ran around the city to observe the condition of the other Academy students.
"So weak..." he muttered under his breath.
Almost everybody was in the Low 2-star range or the Peak 2-star range, with only a few exceptions barely crossing into the 3-star realm.
"Maybe they have stronger beasts...?" He tried to stay positive, but that thought didn’t hold up very well when he arrived at the training arena, where students from other academies were challenging each other.
While watching the matches, he spotted a familiar face among the sparring partners.
"What was his name... ah! Dale!" Leo recalled as he saw the blond-haired young man fighting alongside his Earthen-type beast.
Granite Burrowlord (Low 3-star) - Super Bloodline
It was the same beast that had been at Peak 2-star when Niri healed it on the verge of death. The jagged granite slabs protruding along its ridge and its thick forelimbs with chisel-like claws gave it a lasting impression as it clashed against Aaron’s Shardfall Warden.
Somehow, both individuals seemed to know each other as they fought enthusiastically.
But even though both beasts appeared evenly matched, it was an entirely different matter for their masters. Dale seemed to be dominating Aaron with heavy punches that continuously forced him backward, even though Aaron was also fighting with his fists.
Tham!
"Y-You... do you gain strength after adding women to your harem?" Aaron grunted, his hands trembling as he blocked Dale’s punch.
"Haha, I wish that were true. That way, I would have a legitimate reason to have more beautiful women in my team!" Dale replied with a grin. He pulled his fist back before suddenly swinging a backhand strike into Aaron’s ribs, sending him flying to the side.
"God damn, this is just cheating. Your talent allows you to share your beast’s strength, and here I am training day and night," Aaron complained as he grabbed Dale’s hand and pulled himself back up.
"But even then, you weren’t this strong the last time we fought. I was confident I could defeat you with my greatsword back then. But now, even my greatsword would fail."
"It is thanks to a strong individual I met during the trial. Not only did he save my girls’ lives and mine, but he also gave me an unprocessed Earthpulse Heartstone. Somehow, it had an incredible synergy with my body and Earth element, so my strength rose to another level. At that time, I didn’t know the value of the treasure, so I gave a random price that I could afford, and it seems it was the case for him too--since he agreed. But if I could now, I would pay him even more money if I were to go back. Though back then, I already gave him almost everything I had."
"What? Which man is going around donating natural treasures? Introduce him to me," Aaron said with a surprised expression.
The reason Aaron described it as ’donating natural treasures’ even though Dale had paid for it was because the value of natural treasures could become priceless depending on the circumstance. Just like how the Earthpulse Heartstone had extraordinary synergy with Dale’s body, its value to him would be at least 10 times higher than it would be for an ordinary person.
"You don’t know him? I guess that makes sense... since he is very cold and dangerous. It’s difficult to even talk to him; he only speaks business and doesn’t like to be messed with," Dale said.
"But you must have met him. He is strong and should be among the top ranks of Aurelius Academy. I don’t know whether he gave me his real name or not, but when we introduced ourselves, he called himself—"
"Leo!"
Suddenly, Aaron called out and waved after spotting Leo among the crowd, silently observing their match.
